Literature Text

The loudest laugh,
The wettest tears.
The biggest smile,
The greatest sorrow.
What's behind the make-up,
The mask he always wears,
Is a symphony of sadness
That eats him like a bear.
Always happy,
Yet ever so sad.
He acts and reacts,
as if he weren't mad.
Always hiding,
Always just fine.
Never finding
A reason to be glad.
The mask he wears is not his choice,
He'd like to remove it,
And hope they'll hear his voice.
But he knows it would scare them,
Make them think he needed help,
more help than was necessary.
They'd drug him,
Lock him away.
Paint the world with rainbows and waffles.
Or, they'd think him a fake,
Believing that he was lying,
Trying to get attention.
Neither was true.
Does one not have the right to be sad?
So he wears his mask,
Always seeming glad,
No one ever quite knowing,
That they're really making him mad.
No one seeing
That he's in such a bind,
Because "nothing's wrong,
Everything's just fine."
well, it sorta rhymes
